[Black Stax] music felt timeless but at the same time very current and in alignment with the times we are in…[and] delivered a message that was freeing… the music emulated a positive energy not just through the lyrics, but sonically as well. [it’s able to bring people together in a way that feels authentic and genuine. Felicia and Jace made us feel like we were part of the performance as a community, not just as spectators. One of the most memorable songs for me was called Ghosts (Cover Me). I was particularly moved by Felicia Louds’ vocals. You can really hear how her voice has a presence of the ancestors. She brings so much energy and grounding to the music.I would definitely see them again and recommend others to see them. There is something about seeing them live that felt almost like a missing piece to a puzzle. There’s so much texture and movement that a live performance gives and Black Stax has the kind of sound that really thrives in a live environment. You can really feel the love, heart and soul in every word.
